From My Cold, Cranberry Stained Hands

Why for fifty-three years I’ve put up with it now!
I must stop Christmas from coming! But how?

We are on day 240 of 15 days to slow the spread.

Thanksgiving is next week.

You know, it’s the holiday that began with colonists giving thanks for God’s provision for the year after they sailed to a new land to escape and oppressive government and religious persecution.

So, ever since Joe Biden was declared President Elect by the media…

NARRATOR: The media isn’t the final say.

…we’ve been hearing about an increase in COVID cases. I’m sure it has a lot to do with back to school and the

weather changing, but nothing to do with thousands of people celebrating the Harris Administration in the streets.

I ain’t wrong.

Regardless, our overlords are now declaring that Thanksgiving is the next threat. Whilst I do understand that sharing a table together is one of the riskiest places to be, get out of my house.

The public ignoring “scientists and medical experts” is not what ruined Thanksgiving You guys being constantly wrong about everything, never admitting it, never apologizing, and still supporting BLM protests while yelling at people for going to church is what achieved that

Enough already. We’re not doing another lockdown.

You can’t tell me how many people I can have at my Thanksgiving table.

For the record Karen, we’re having six.

You’ve already ruined Easter, and summer vacation, and school, and church, and have damn near killed the economy.

You’re not taking Thanksgiving.

Don’t even think about touching Christmas.

Honestly, I don’t think the science in charge has any real clue about how this virus is going to react. They have been anything but consistent in their messaging.

Even allowing them the grace to understand that it was a learning curve, they’ve still put us through endless hell and toilet paper shortages.

I do not discount the severity of this virus.

I know people who have had the virus and recovered.

I have friends who have lost loved ones to the virus.

A few weeks ago, because of some suspicious symptoms, I had my own test done.

It’s just that I don’t trust the government to tell us how to handle it.

Can some of these experts finally admit they really don’t know how to tame a virus (other than a vaccine) any more than they can use their vaunted science to manipulate the global thermostat? Arrogance comes to mind, but what do I know?

Here’s the deal.

Be careful. If your immune system is compromised or you’re just plain scared, stay home.

If you decide to go out, wear your mask when you’re inside or around other people.

Wash your hands frequently.

Eat a healthy diet, drink plenty of water, take your vitamins, and get some exercise.

And then get the #@$% on with your life.

Over 400 years ago settlers came to this country to escape a tyrannical government, to escape religious persecution, to seek and build a better life.

No they didn’t have it easy. Yes, there was disease and hunger, and not so friendly neighbors.

But you know what they didn’t do? They didn’t stay home in fear.

If they had, you’d be reading this in English today.

Pass the mashed potatoes please.

But only if you washed your hands first.
