Trust

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Psalm 56:3

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got for today.

I went to bed last night with no idea for today’s post.

Truthfully, I went to bed about 12:30 this morning because I finished a re-watch of Wandavision in my quest to watch all the Marvel movies and shows in their timeline order.

That’s another story.

Last night I also had a Zoom meeting with a bunch of Santas. Always fun. Always informative.

And let’s not forget that yesterday afternoon I had a work meeting which I not only organized, I had to

The Write Side Shop

present.

The thought then was do I really need to post.

But then this morning’s verse came up on the Bible app.

Read it again:

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Psalm 56:3

I can’t say that there’s anything I’m particularly fearful of this morning.

Oh sure, just like you, I’ve got troubles, right here in River City.

At least one of them starts with a P and stands for the pool we didn’t join.

A choice we made for many reasons. I’ll just leave it at that.

So, this morning, all I’ve got is a simple statement of faith. A simple statement of trust.

And sometimes, that’s all you need.

For some unexplained reason, the earworm I have today is “Once and for All” from Newsies. I don’t know why. Maybe a mashup of the things in my head means that I shouldn’t fear to seize the day.  Maybe not.

Wait! What Do You Mean I Have to Go Back?

Virginia Beach, Virginia

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

It is day two of our captivity…I mean, it’s the second day of being back in the office after what I have referred to as our forty-seven years of house arrest.

I mean, I wanted to get out. I didn’t want to go back to work.

Not only that, but today I have a meeting AND I have to give a presentation.

I’m ready. But I don’t want to be.

It’s all good. It’s just another readjustment to get used to.

Don’t forget that Amazon Prime Day is today and tomorrow.

That’s a great time to get your copy (or copies, they make great gifts) of CAT and PIG: A Story of Friendship.

See you tomorrow.
