At the end of last week, a harmonic convergence brought together a chance to see one of my favorite writers and to hang out with some dear friends from high school.
“You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. February 6, 2011 marks the Centennial of Ronald Reagan’s birth. Reagan was unquestionably the greatest President of my lifetime, and in my opinion, the greatest President of the 20th Century. For the month of February, 2011, we present “28 Days of Ronald Reagan” featuring a daily tribute. We’ll include his wit, and his wisdom and some of our favorite stories.
Prior to the beginning of the Super Bowl, this video of various sports figures, our military and others reciting the Declaration of Independence aired on the FOX network. It’s worth watching again.
And maybe, just maybe it will redeem the horrible version of our Star Mangled Banner.
