If it’s Thursday, it must be…Thursday

Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone – except God. Yet the farther we get from God, the more the world spirals out of control.

We are on day 131 of 15 days to slow the spread.

One of the news outlets that I follow rather than trusting the alphabet networks, reminded me today that we are also 100 days away from Halloween.

I’m not sure I believe that because I’ve seen no signs, yet, of Spirit Halloween stores. When we start to see those, we will know that nature is healing itself.

Whatever happens Halloween, along with pretty much the rest of life, is going to look at lot different this year.

Sure, the mask part is easy. But I suspect most parents will buy a bag of candy, let their kids walk around the house from room to room, and call it a year.

What remains to be seen is whether Halloween attractions like Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion will be open. If they are, they too won’t look like they have in previous years.

As I was writing this, news comes that the Virginia State Fair is canceled for this year. That’s really bad because we need the rain.

If you know, you know.

regular Black Friday nonsense.

What’s next? Cats and dogs living together in harmony?

Just to be clear, they live together in our house, but that ain’t harmony.

It’s Thursday, which doesn’t mean anything anymore. It could be Wednesday, or Tuesday.
I have the same routine. The same view. The same annoying emails.

I did keep my routine of going to the gym this morning, even though I really didn’t want to.

Really.

Einstein never really said this, but you can find a meme that says he did, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

On a side note, that’s why I didn’t bother to try to correct the lunacies I’ve seen on Facebook this morning. It’s not going to change anyone’s mind.

I’m expecting results from the gym, but for everything else, I’m just trying to make it to the next day.

Just like you.

We all have dreams and goals and things we want to happen.

But, right now, this mess has us stuck in a rut.

The best we can do is to keep going, keep encouraging each other, and keep remembering that, regardless of what we read or don’t read on social media, we’re all struggling to deal with this.

That’s pretty much all I’ve got to say about this.

Well, that and send your leftover Halloween Almond Joys to me.
