I want to be a Quitter

My status this morning, written late because I was indeed dealing with a crisis created by someone else said this, “I’m sorry, your crisis precipitated by your lack of planning is not on my agenda today.”

But, of course I had to deal with it.

Suffice it to say that I’m not in the job I’d dreamed of when I was growing up.  Fact is, when I was growing up, I had no idea that people even had jobs like this.

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m grateful for the job and especially the income, but it is by no stretch of the imagination my “dream job.”

That’s why I want this book: Quitter, by Jon Acuff

Acuff says:

From figuring out what your dream is to quitting in a way that exponentially increases your chance of success, Quitter is full of inspiring stories and actionable advice. This book is based on 12 years of cubicle living and my true story of cultivating a dream job that changed my life and the world in the process.

I’ve been working in that direction.  I have an end retirement date in mind, and it’s not that far away.  But what if I could actually put together my dream job and leave…now?

I think I’m ready to take the next step.  And it may just be reading this book.
