October Chills

The secret of it all is to write without waiting for a fit time or place.

There’s a definite chill in the air. Even though we’ve not had frost warnings yet, yesterday I moved the plants back inside.

They sort of cozy up the office in a Little Shop of Horrors kind of way.

Speaking of LSOH, I got my permanent crown yesterday. Compared to visits with my childhood dentist (the inspiration for the LSOH dentist), it was pretty much a breeze.

Just like October that’s breezing on by.

I am both getting excited and stressed about the coming holiday season…work with me here because by holiday season I mean Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Years. Technically Epiphany because, now matter how many of you take your tree down on December 26, it’s just wrong. The season is not over.

I digress.

As I have in recent years, I’ve decided once again to not attempt NaNoWriMo. That’s National Novel Writing Month.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m still writing. And editing.

But I’m not going to add the stress of trying to write a completely new novel in thirty days.

Your word count may vary.

We all approach the holidays in different ways. I’m generally one for doing things up big time.

I’ll be stringing up some Halloween lights this weekend and switching them out for Christmas lights not long after that.

It’s a busy time of year for me and not even Dr. Fauci can stop it from coming.

Too soon?

In other news, the world lost two greats this week.

Rest in Peace, Betty Lynn (a.k.a. Thelma Lou), August 29, 1926 – October 16, 2021

Rest in Peace, Colin Powell, April 5, 1937 – October 18, 2021

May Their Memories be for a Blessing.
