Monday: Here We Go Again

Monday is here and we have to decide what to do with it.

Things that have made me think in the last week:

“Each and every one of you has the power, the will, and the capacity to make a difference in the world in which you live.”
Harry Belafonte

“Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justice…now. Love mercy…now. Walk humbly…now. You are not obligated to complete the work but neither are you free to abandon it.”
Rabbinic Commentary (Micah 6:8)

My Three Words for 2024 were(are): Flexible, Creative Concerned.

When we got back from the beach earlier this month. I wrote that perhaps the word “concerned” was the wrong word. I substituted, well, actually added, the word change. That’s still a good one.

But maybe concerned wasn’t the wrong word. Just a bit overwhelming.

There’s a lot of stuff going on out there. Much of it scary. Most of it I can’t change, But that doesn’t mean you and I shouldn’t care.

It’s up to us to do what we can in our own little circles of influence.

Mother Teresa said: “If you can’t feed a hundred people, feed just one.”

That’s the concern. That’s the post.

Use it wisely.
