Things Considered

I may or may not have started playing Christmas music over the weekend.

Over the summer, I’ve been occasionally watching Christmas movies. Saturday and Sunday I watched The Christmas Chronicles and The Christmas Chronicles 2. It will never be a favorite, but I didn’t hate the second one quite as much this time.

Still, it’s market research, because the children loved these movies. Santa has to stay informed.

Speaking of not hating something as much the second, or third, or maybe it’s fourth time around, I can’t say that about the notice I got in the mail yesterday.

It’s time for my next colonoscopy. Apparently it’s been five years already.

But, don’t they know what I’ve been through this year?

I would like to ask the medical profession to kindly leave my hinder parts alone for a while.

I’d make a crack, so to speak, about all that activity back there and no one offering to buy me a drink. But if you’ve ever had a colonoscopy, you know that’s just not funny.

Don’t nobody want to stay around for that last call.

I have to tell you, I’m a little tired of medical procedures. I’m already scheduled with my dentist to replace a crown that has bothered her for several years.

And it’s probably time for my next eye exam. I figure I’ll need a new prescription because, thanks to not having to leave the house for forty-seven years, I’ve got a year’s supply of contacts.

I’m not sure there’s a message in this post.

Well, maybe there is. See your doctor.

Eat your fruits and vegetables. Drink plenty of water.

And come back tomorrow and maybe I’ll have something interesting for you.
