Today, Israel celebrates Yom Ha’atzmaut. Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrates around the declaration of the state of Israel by The Jewish Leadership led by future Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion, on May 14, 1948. The declaration was made just 8 hours before the end of the British Mandate of Palestine on May 15, 1948.
I had the opportunity to go to Israel in late 1983 and again in 1984. Both were incredible trips. I’d love to go back. Somewhere around here, I’ve got pictures. I need to dig them out again.
