WeKids at Stop Child Abuse Now 5K

We Kids Kicked Off the Morning with the "Star Spangled Banner."

 

This morning while you were likely still sleeping, or at least having a second cup of coffee, a healthy contingent of kids and parents from West End Assembly of God headed out to Whole Foods in Short Pump to be a part of the Stop Child Abuse Now 5K. The event was covered by Bill Blevins and Shelly Perkins from Lite 98.

The WeKids lead the morning off with the national anthem.  Then the it was time for the kids 1K Run and Walk, followed by the 5K.  Throughout the morning the WeKids presented numbers from their upcoming show LOST to be presented at WEAG at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6.

sponsors on hand included Whole Foods, Diamond Springs, Dominion and more.  All registration fees went directly to SCAN for the prevention of child abuse.

It was a cold morning.  But an important one.
