Virginian Thomas Jefferson’s statute became the basis for the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
We’re two weeks into the year and yesterday was our first Bread/Milk/Toilet Paper drill here in Central Virginia. The weather app said it was snowing long before it actually did. We got a covering and then some rain. The snow finally came. Then it got icy.
So, here on Tuesday morning, most of our surrounding world is on a two-hour delay.
That’s lucky for you because I wasn’t going to post. It’s pretty obvious I didn’t have much to say today.
In spite of my wearage of the red suit, I am not a fan of winter. Give me warm weather and the beach or the pool. I could be happy with that all year long. True story.
In other news, rather than spend my three-day weekend (which use to be a four-day weekend in Virginia, but that’s another story) doing some of the brilliant writing I need to be doing, I spent most of it continuing to work on the reworking of my home office.
I made significant progress. I did not reach my intended goal. I did manage to get everything out, the furniture rearranged, the floors swept and vacuumed some of the walls rearranged.
I didn’t manage to assemble all three bookcases. I did finish one. At this point the greater challenge will simply be getting the other two upstairs.
In other news, Donald Trump won a resounding victory in the Iowa caucuses. I just don’t get it. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.
