Love Wins: Is Rob Bell the New Rick Warren?

I haven't read Rob Bell's new book, “Love Wins.” I'm not sure if I will.

But it's certainly causing a lot of controversy.  And just like a few years ago with Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven® Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?
, there doesn't seem to be an easy answer.  Below are links to what some people are saying.

Perhaps the best review out there…especially today…

My Review of Love Wins
Don Miller

I confess I read this book because of all the hoopla on the internet. John Piper hates it, Mark Driscoll wants to say how much he hates it but is tired of launching his enemies onto the New York Times bestsellers list so he talks about it without talking about it…

This is from a young friend I watched grow up in the church.  He read with an open mind and posts his thoughts.

Rob Bell's “Love Wins” review
There are of course downsides to this book, but they aren't r

eally even worth talking about I feel. The general message overshadows them…

And more.

Rob Bell, the Book, and a Candle
John Mark Reynolds, Torrey Honors Institute via Crosswalk.com
Old books like the Bible require rigorous exegetical skills or they end up saying what we wish they said. Bell’s god ends up looking suspiciously like Rob Bell, never a good sign in a theologian.

Rob Bell, Hell and God's Love – The Debate that Won't Die
Jennifer Riley, The Christian Post
Although Bell contends that God’s love wins in the end, he has remained vague and elusive about his position on whether hell exists despite being questioned about this many times during interviews.

Love Has Already Won
Michael Youssef
In many ways, Rob Bell’s book puts an end to the nonsense of the “I’m only raising questions” and “We all should be asking questions” gibberish.

Is It Worth A Billion $ to Re-Elect Obama?

Obama supporters are looking for a billion and some change.

The campaign, which is expected to raise as much as $1 billion overall, is starting its own fundraising at an aggressive clip, pairing large low-dollar events in each city with exclusive gatherings that will cost as much as $35,800 a person — with $5,000 going to the reelection campaign and the rest to the Democratic

National Committee.
L.A. Times

Way to represent the downtrodden masses Barry!

Look, I'm under no illusions that if the Republicans can ever find a non-laugh-evoking candidate that they won't try to raise, or outraise the Democrats.

It's all a little sickening actually.

But, if you really try to use the phrase “rich Republicans” in a conversation? You deserve to be mocked.

Early and often.
