We don’t get out often to see movies. My son and I did manage to catch Wonka on Christmas Eve (more later).
Last night my wife and I finally had the chance to sit down and catch Maestro on Netflix.
Maestro is the brainchild of Actor/Director Bradley Cooper and tells the love story between Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein. The film is beautifully and artistically done with some interesting artistic choices. No spoilers.
Performances by both leads, Cooper and Carry Mulligan are outstanding. What my wife and I both noticed, however, was the incredible makeup work that takes the cast from young to old. It was believable, flawless and Oscar worthy. I expect the film to receive multiple nominations.
The film has already been nominated for 8 Critics Choice Awards and 4 Golden Globe Awards including Best Picture.
Definitely worth your time.
Maestro is streaming on Netflix.
Rated R. 2 hours. 11 minutes.
