Thursday: We’re Almost There

For well over half a century I have never gone a day without getting acquainted with some other person, and in those times I’ve only had my face slapped once and been called a few names.

American actor, Will Geer, known by many as Grandpa Walton, was born on this day in 1902. (died 1978).

Today is National Get Over it Day, a day created by entrepreneur Jeff Goldblatt for the purpose of encouraging people to self-reflect and move on from whatever is weighing on them.

Easier said than done. Still, there’s merit in taking time to reflect on what’s troubling us. Maybe we’ll come up with a solution, maybe not. Or maybe we’ll find that we’re all obsessed over something that really just doesn’t matter.

We saw Jesus Revolution last night. It brought back a lot of memories of my early teen years. I had the album, we had the Christian rock group come and sing at my high school…true story. The movie is well done and the story is compelling. Kelsey Grammer does an incredible job of portraying Chuck Smith.

Within the last few weeks The Chosen made a pretty impressive box office showing, Asbury University was the center point for an outpouring of the spirit among young people drawing some 70,000 people to a small Kentucky town. And, the day after the Collegiate Day of Prayer, scheduled two years ago on what would be the day of the concluding public services, Jesus Revolution premiered in theaters.

Read into that what you will. Just be aware of which direction is East.

I don’t believe in coincidence.

GOP Can’t Be Successful Until Mitch McConnell Is Gone
Mollie Hemingway in The Federalist
So long as Mitch McConnell is the top elected Republican in D.C., eagerly trashing Republican voters, vociferously advocating for Democrat policy goals, pushing $1.7 trillion Democrat spending packages, and weakly fighting for whatever Republican goals he can be bothered to pursue, Republicans have a major problem. This is beyond obvious.
