Above all the grace and the gifts that Christ gives to his beloved is that of overcoming self.
Francis of Assisi
I need it. Daily.
I don’t quite recall where I was in my spiritual journey when I had the realization that we’re all messed up. We’re all in need of grace.
I grew up in a tradition of judgement. Was I living right? Did I need to get sin out of my life?
Well, of course I did. But I needed grace more than condemnation.
And not to sermonize, but many people won’t darken the door of a church these days because there was much more condemnation than grace.
The Bible says in Romans 3:23.
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
We all need grace.
And we shouldn’t judge someone just because they sin differently than we do.
I’m thankful for grace, because I need it every morning.
As well as every afternoon and evening.
Today, and every day, I’m thankful for grace.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
