Just Another Day

It was just another Monday night.

I know, today isn’t Monday.

But twenty years ago today was.

On that crisp September evening, we put our children to bed, wrapped up our plans, packed our lunches for the following day.

A day which was supposed to be just another Tuesday.

It was not.

Within hours we would be watching the horrors unfold live on our television screens.

We would raise our flags.

We would fill our churches.

We would stand in line for hours to give blood.

We would vow to never be the same again.

We would vow to never forget.

But, we did.

I pray that we never again have to experience something so horrific.

But I wish we could be the people we were on the morning of September 12.
