For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:16-17
Today is the Day
It’s today. The long walk to the cross. The darkest hour.
Today is Good Friday. Good because what it means for us.
A somber day. A day to reflect. A day to remember.
We all had left Him and in those final hours on the cross he cried out to the Father but He was alone.
Every sin. Every evil thought. Every angry word. Every deed.
All there on the cross with him.
Normally this would be Short Story Friday. Not today.
Today we we remember the greatest story ever told.
It’s dark. We are afraid. We’ve lost all hope.
Sunday is coming.

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
