“There’s no use trying,” she said: “one can’t believe impossible things.” “I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Through the Looking-Glass
Lewis Carroll
As I’ve mentioned, I”m between shows.
I’m working to deliberately spend more time thinking and planning and less time scrambling. In doing so, I’ve realized there are three things I need more of. Note that these are not just three things I want more of.
I need to spend more time outside. I work with the park system. This should not be a challenge.
I need more music. I need to sing more. My church no longer has singable music on Sunday mornings, so we’ve looked elsewhere. We’re not resettled yet. But, I also need to be playing more music, even if I did cancel my Apple Music subscription and lose my downloaded files. I do know that, if I open it up again, I’ll get those files back.
I need more art. I need more time to create.
That’s not six things, nor are they impossible. I just need to make them a priority.
It goes without saying that I need to be writing more.
Even though I just said it.
That’s not six things. They’re also not impossible things.
No one is in charge of helping me get these things but me.
I’m working on them.
