Today’s all about the total eclipse of the sun. Hopefully, you’ve been warned, and prepared enough to not do permanent damage to your eyesight.
If you don’t have the NASA approved glasses, don’t look at it.
Just. Don’t.
You need your fine eyesight to read all the brilliant things I write and share here.
It’s Monday, summer is almost over. And I sit here not having had the first sunburn or hint of tan.
But, that’s okay. And please, I’m a cancer survivor, I don’t need skin cancer lectures. Contrary to the days of my youth, I take my doses of sun in moderation.
As we should with most things.
Today I’m looking at the fact that I have just three weeks before my script is being read in a public forum…and I’ve been promising my readers that they would get the script this week.
There’s work to be done.
Around the house we’re making preparations for fall as both the wife and the son go back to school this year. It’s a good thing.
And so, we move ahead with our goals.
We look around us and there’s lots of ugly and scary things going on, but we can’t let them paralyze us. And I, for one, am not going to continue to write about them here. I will, however, continue to provide multiple links below for things you should read and consider.
Some of them may inspire you. Some of them may anger you. Hopefully all will educate you in some manner. But don’t just dismiss them.
Progress is also being made for the reformatting or continued work on this blog and the upcoming newsletter (free and option, so do not worry). I have the platform. I have the service I plan to be using. It just needs to get done.
In addition, I will be relaunching one of my other blogs, Historic Occasions, for the purposes of promoting the script (based on a big darned historic occasion), and other production work that I may be doing. It’s a bit of a reworking of the purpose for which it was initially intended, and that’s perhaps another story for another day.
If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you know that winter is already here. But in reality, fall and winter are on the way.
I’ve not been in a store, other than a brief venture into Walmart the other day to grab some hair product and confirm that they no longer had eclipse glasses, but I’m sure that stores are flooded with back to school stuff, that Halloween is either out or coming out, and that Christmas is not far behind.
I’m not going to complain about how early they get stuff out. I’m also not shopping for anything Halloween or Christmas. I do my best Christmas decoration shopping between December 25 and January 1. True story. The sales can be amazing.
I realize this post is a bit rambly. I think I’ve warned you that you’d get that from me from time to time.
This is one of those times.
But, perhaps it gives some insight into why I’m involved in so many things, so many projects.
It’s all part of the building process to full-time writing and theater.
You can help me with that today. In addition to the upcoming newsletter, I know that I need to be reading and interacting with other writers across the Interwebz. I’ve been building a list into my daily reader, but here’s how you can help me out.
In the comments below, give me links to blogs you think worthwhile, or interesting, or both. I promise to give each one
That’s how we do things. We help one another out.
Can I help with your writing, editing or design project? Let’s find out.
It’s Monday.
Friday (and autumn) are coming.

The Parable of the Good Nazi
Fr. Dwight Longenecker
I think, depending who he was talking to today, Jesus would have made the Samaritan a White Supremacist–or a Black Lives Matter activist.
‘Racism Is Bad,’ Says White Woman Who Oversees Systematic Annihilation Of Minorities
The Babylon Bee
Stressing that it is unacceptable for anyone to remain silent in the face of injustice, Cecile Richards, the white woman who heads Planned Parenthood and oversees the systematic annihilation of minorities in America by specifically targeting their communities for abortion services, released a statement on social media condemning racism.
Equivocation: A Primer
The Republican Standard
…sweeping generalizations used thus far — either to condemn violence “on both sides” or excuse the acts of one side in light of the other — are poor reasoning.
AND, FINALLY..
