He’s coming

No, not the jolly old elf in the big red suit.

He’s coming too.

But the reason he’s coming too is because of the birth of a baby a long time ago in a stable in Bethlehem.

Indeed, with all of the faux “War on Christmas” stories, and silliness about red cups, and manger scenes and editing Linus’ speech out of the story (yes, it happened), there’s only one reason the world is celebrating.

That’s not intended to offend anyone, although scripture certainly tells us the gospel will be offensive to some.

But, if you’re celebrating. If you have a tree. If you have lights up. If you’re buying presents…it all began in the manger.

There’s one reason for the celebration.

The Apostle Paul wrote:

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Phillipians 2:9-11

The birth of that child changed the world.
