Any dream will do?

The thing you have to be prepared for is that other people don’t always dream your dream.

American singer-songwriter, producer, and actress Linda Ronstadt was born on this day in 1946.

At least that’s what Linda told me when it was all over.

You won’t find it in any entertainment magazine or on any website. But when I was in high school Linda Ronstadt, Olivia Newton John, and Karen Carpenter used to fight over me.

It’s true, they longed to be Close to Me.

Personally, I had to tell the girls that it was just not to be. I was meant for someone else. But face it, they made a lot of money singing about unrequited love.

At least that’s the way I remember it.

Like Linda said, I’m prepared for the fact that you may not be dreaming my dream.

I digress.

I’m admittedly dreaming a lot these days. The title of this post comes from my summer show three years ago when I played Potiphar in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Dogwood Dell.

You knew I’d get a musical theater reference in here.

I won’t call this the Impossible Dream because I wasn’t cast in this summer’s show. But friends were and I’ll be going to see them soon.

I’ve talked about Living the Dream. I sort of am. But not entirely.

I’m working very diligently to make this writing and acting thing happen full time. Then, and only then, we can quit the day job.

Well then or when Publisher’s Clearing House shows up or people really start hitting the tip jar.

But, it’s okay to have something to look forward to. I’m looking forward to next summer’s week at the beach because we won’t have it this year. I’m not whining. Much, anyway. It’s just that circumstances didn’t work out for the annual plant my backside in the sand vacation.

I’ll get there. Next year. And I have plans to see the ocean this year. It will all work out.

Life comes in seasons. This one just happens to be a rainy, stay-at-home, season.

Good weather for dreaming.

And, Linda, I’m sorry.
