What’s this? A Saturday Post?

No, there is no Norman Rockwell portrait.

As a follow up to yesterday’s post, I’m reorganizing and making a writing, blogging, acting, retiring-my-behind-in-the-sand plan this weekend.

If my neighbors are reading this, not to worry, I will also be out in the yard today. As long as it doesn’t rain. I promise to have the leaves up (or at least mowed under) before they start falling again. Work with me here.

Having said that, enjoy these random thoughts.

On this date, the King James Bible, the one God wrote, is published for the first time in London, England, by printer Robert Barker.

It’s the version I grew up with. But, while the language is beautiful, it’s not “the one God wrote.”

I’m being facetious, but I was a young short-term missionary on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico when I was told that my New American Standard Bible was not a “real Bible.”

I wish I was making that up. Help us, Jesus. Seriously.

Also on this date in 1955, Tennessee Williams won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

If you’re casting, I am your Big Daddy.

Finally, American singer-songwriter and actress, Lesley Gore was born on this day in 1946 (died February 16, 2015).
