An adventure down the rabbit hole

Sometimes I could kick myself but I don’t because I know the end result is likely to be more physical therapy.

I came home from rehearsal last night with a plan for today’s post. Then I scrapped it.

I’ll give you the condensed version. I was going to write about the President’s latte salute. The basic point was going to be:

“You people need to stop making me defend this man.”

Tacky? Maybe. Bad form? Certainly. Crisis? Hardly.

But I just didn’t want to dig into the whole history of Presidential salutes (which, for the record, started with President Reagan, not before) and then…no wait…I said I wasn’t going there.

That left me without a blog topic. So I started searching, looking for inspirational quotes.

Then I came across an ad that promised more than 200 blog topics.

I fell for it.

Call me gullible. I am. Call it desperation. Well, maybe.

Blame the exhaustion. Yep. Blame the shoulder pain. Yep. Blame the pain killers. Not enough. Not yet.

All I had to do was enter my email…okay…that’s easy enough.

And $7.00. That’s not bad for a book.

Don’t you mock me. You probably would have as well.

I was promised the link to download the list would be sent. Three (at least) sales pitches later with monthly membership starting at the “bargain” price of about $38.00 a month…

I still haven’t seen the promised list.

I finally found a contact email and asked for my money back. I don’t expect to ever see it.

So, I’ll consider it a failed investment (can I take it off on my tax forms?). At least it gave me something to write about.

Then again, if each of you reading would click the link in the top of the right hand column and donate $7.00, my investment might pay off.

I promise the link won’t take you to another video. Nor will your $7.00 get you a book.

But $7.00 is a small price to pay for my undying thanks.

Forget that.

I need sleep. And pain meds.

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall

– Jefferson Airplane

MORNING BONUS UPDATE: In the pre-alarm hours this morning, I woke and realized I’d spent my first night in weeks without shoulder pain.  I’d pay another $7.00 for that.
