He just upgraded to tropical storm status this morning. But how else can you explain that the first tropical storm/hurricane of the 2014 season will torment the East Coast on Fourth of July weekend?
The National Hurricane Center assigned the name “Arthur” to the first tropical storm of the season. The way the path looks right now, he’ll be hitting the Outer Banks on Thursday morning.
Granted, we know enough about storms to know this could all change and he could head out to sea. But for now, plans for grilling and beaching and all that other fun red, white, and blue stuff are at least questionable.
It’s just not American.

“Dennis the Peasant: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Arthur: Be quiet!
Dennis: You can’t expect to wield supreme power just ’cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!”
