Historically Awesome: 1978 Republican Convention

If you’re a political geek like me, or even if you aren’t and you just like some awesome history, this five minutes is well worth your time.

I wasn’t at the 1978 Convention. I was in college in Kentucky at the time, or getting ready to go on summer tour with a ministry team.

I also wasn’t aware of the August 2, 1978 plane crash that killed Dick Obenshain, candidate for Senate and the father of Attorney General Candidate Mark Obenshain. I learned about it later because my own father had died the day before on August 1, 1978.

History. Memories. Woven together. There’s probably books that could be written…

It’s an awesome video.

H/T to Shaun Kenney at Bearing Drift.
