American actress and singer, Annette Funicello died today at the age of 70.
She began her career as a child performer gaining her fame as one of the original Mouseketeers. As a teenager she had a successful singing career and established herself as an actress in the “Beach Party” movies starring with Frankie Avalon.
Funicello announced in 1992 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She died from complications of the disease.
