Marie Osmond is the sister of the show business family brothers “The Osmonds” but gained her own success as a solo country music artist in the 1970s. She and her brother Donny Osmond hosted a TV variety show Donny & Marie that first aired in 1976. Marie is one of nine children of Olive and George Osmond, and the only daughter.
Her first solo “Paper Roses” became a Number 1 country hit and reached the Top 5 on the Billboard magazine pop chart. She acted in her first made for TV movie, The Gift of the Magi in 1978. She has also appeared on Broadway as Anna in The King and I and as Maria in The Sound of Music.
In 2007, Marie Osmond came in third place on the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars.
