A Little Light Beach Reading

My family, sans large child who is staying home to work and keep the dog, is heading to Virginia Beach tomorrow for a week on the oceanfront. It’s a bit different than our usual beach week on the Outer Banks. But we’re looking forward to it.

The beach is always a good time to catch up on plans and reading. So I’ve purchased a new moleskin notebook and I’ve gathered some “light” reading. Books actually that I’ve been wanting to read for quite a while. Not sure which I’ll start first, Rawhide Down: The Near Assassination of Ronald Reagan or Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, SpyHistorical Biographies & Memoirs).

Dietriech Bonhoeffer and Ronald Reagan. Both men I admire and both men from whom I can learn much.

I’ve also packed along a study of the Gospel of Mark.

I may get to all of these. I may get to none of these. I’m going without an agenda, without a plan.

And if I come back and they’re all still on my “to read” list, then that’s just fine.
