I did not want to write about Anthony’s…I mean Anthony Weiner.
Seriously, the jokes write themselves and I just didn’t want to go there. But I’ll say this. He did something stupid and said as much today in his bizarre press conference (please let Saturday Night Live not be a rerun this week).
I do have to wonder if Weiner’s press person hasn’t already resigned. I mean who advised him to go open mic at the press conference? Smartest thing would have been to read a prepared statement and get the heck out of there. But, I digress.
But the most bizarre comment comes, not from Weiner, but from Barbara Walters who today said…
“He is a good congressman. He has been an effective congressman. If Sarah Palin can still ride around on her bus and be considered as a possible president, this man can override this, stay in congress and just hope there is another scandal that will take him…”
But it gets better.
Who responds to Barbara?
None other but the anything-on-the-right hating Joy Behar who said, “Let me defend Sarah for 30 seconds…The woman has no sex scandal in her dossier, in her arsenal. This is a completely different thing from Sarah Palin. And I want to defend her here.”
