The One Where the Human Events Author Steps Over a Line

I love a good snark.  I’ve been known to toss out a few of my own from time to time.  I believe that an effective means of political debate can often be pointing out the absdurdity of your opponent’s position.

That’s why I was intrigued by James Delingpole’s “365 Ways to Drive a Liberal Crazy.”  I knew I wouldn’t necessarily agree with everything in the book, nor would I think that everything is funny.  But it was worth a follow both in my email inbox and on Facebook.

Until today.

The other day the author referred to the use of the term “libtard” instead of “liberal.”  I’ve heard the term used.  And I understand the sentiment behind it.  But it’s not helpful.

But today was the final straw.  As most know, the month of February is traditionally designated as African American History Month.

The author suggested referring to it as “Fake History Month.”  I’m not even going to quote the rest of the email. It’s quite distressing that it even got by the editors.

Somebody at Human Events needs to grow up.
