Rest in Peace, Daydream Believer

Davy Jones, 60s pop star of The Monkees fame today took the Last Train to Clarksville. Jones died of a heart attack near his home in Florida. He was 66.

I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when The Monkees were on television. Their first album was my first LP album. Well right after Gene Autry and “Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer.” My friends and collected the Monkees trading cards, but I never had enough to finish the picture puzzle on the back.

I regret now not seeing The Monkees in concert when they were in Richmond last summer. But I’ve always hated the fact that Mike Nesmith didn’t tour with Davy, Mickey and Peter.

Rest in Peace, Davy Jones.
