Tea Time with Sarah Palin

I didn’t get the chance to watch Sarah Palin’s speech at the Tea Party Convention.  But apparently she was in a take no prisoner mood.  Here are some of the just in stories.

Palin Calls Obama Budget ‘Immoral’
New York Times

Palin told the national ”tea party” convention Saturday that America’s national debt, which is held largely by other nations, ”makes us less free” and ‘’should tick us off.”

The former Republican vice presidential candidate told people attending the convention that it’s time America had a commander in chief, not a professor at a lectern.

Palin says Obama policies to be short-lived
Associated Press via Yahoo!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sarah Palin is predicting a good year for conservative candidates for public office, saying the policies of President Barack Obama and Democratic leaders in Congress will be short-lived.

I honestly haven’t decided if I could support Sarah Palin for President.  But I want her around for a long time.  Just because she drives the left and the media (redundant, I know) absolutely bonkers.

Palin more popular than Obama in Virginia?

That’s one take on these numbers:

Poll: Obama less popular than Palin in Virginia
Newport News Conservative Examiner

When asked if Obama’s campaigning for Deeds for governor would help or hurt, only 14 percent of likely voters said it would make them more likely to vote for Deeds…Other the other hand, when asked if former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin campaigning for Republican Bob McDonnell would help or hurt, 26 percent said it would make them more likely to vote for McDonnell…

Things that make you go “hmmmmm….”

Why won’t they listen to her?

In her speech upon leaving the office of Governor, Sarah Palin said to the media “quit making things up.”

What’s the first thing they do? They make stuff up.

Floating around in the Interwebz today is the rumor that Sarah and Todd Palin are getting a divorce.

Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent “story” (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing. The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island).

Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to “quit making things up.” We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it.

For someone who is supposed to be such a lightweight, so stupid, so not qualified Sarah Palin, by her very existence, is driving the left, the media and some Republicans absolutely flippin’ nutz.

All because she refuses to play their little reindeer games.

Doug from Below the Beltway asks:  Does Palin Have A Chance To Be President?

The article he links to would suggest that she does not.  But what the article fails to take into account is that Sarah Palin is not playing by the conventional rules.  And she’s not taking any prisoners.
Her farewell address illustrates just that:
Together we stand with gratitude for the troops who protect all our cherished freedoms. This includes our First Amendment guaranteed freedom of speech – which, par for the course – I shall exercise. First, with some “straight talk,” I will address some, just some, in the media because another right that is protected is the freedom of the press. You have such important jobs reporting facts and informing the electorate and exerting power to influence. You represent what could and should be a respected and honest profession that could and should be a cornerstone of our democracy. Democracy depends on you. That is why our troops are willing to die for you. So, how about in honor of the American soldier you quit making things up.
