President Barack Obama has made it official: The previous administration’s plans to station missile defense assets in Eastern Europe are going out the window. In a statement issued this morning, the president said that plans to emplace ground-based interceptors in Poland and an X-band radar in the Czech Republic would be dropped in favor of a “phased approach” that will focus on deployment of theater missile defenses.
