Obama Goes to School
And we wonder what he plans to say.
Obama’s classroom campaign: No junior lobbyist left behind
Michelle Malkin
“ABC” stands for All Barack’s Children. On September 8, young students across the country will be watching television. Yes, they’ll be parked in front of the boob tube and computer screens watching President Obama’s address on education.
On some levels I’m thinking “This could be kinda cool” sort of a civics lesson. If that’s what it was.
But this is Barack Obama we’re talking about. This is propaganda plain and simple. He wants Dick and Jane to come home and convince Mums and Dads to support his agenda.
It’s a risky move with his numbers in the polls tanking. But it doesn’t end there, On Wednesday, the President will address a joint session of Congress to talk about health care.
More about that later. One propaganda speech at a time…
Abusing School Kids With Pro-Obama Propaganda
Michael Medved, TownHall
For those who consider this an appropriate use of classroom time at the very beginning of the school year, ask yourself the question: how would you respond had President Bush ordered teachers to get students to write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president?
Right blasts Obama speech to students
Politico
“The idea that school children across our nation will be forced to watch the President justify his plans for government-run health care, banks, and automobile companies, increasing taxes on those who create jobs, and racking up more debt than any other President, is not only infuriating, but goes against beliefs of the majority of Americans, while bypassing American parents through an invasive abuse of power,” [Florida Republican Party] Chairman Jim Greer said in a press release.
You can’t say we didn’t tell you this was coming. Flashback to the campaign:
Can this be far behind for our children?
And you know, it’s been 8 months. Anybody check up on how these people are doing?
I won’t keep my son out of school on the first day. Chesterfield is apparently meeting tomorrow to determine how to address this. If my son’s class watches this, we’ll talk about it.
Propaganda. It’s a good vocabulary word.

Since when did everything the President says become propaganda? I didn’t care for President Bush at the end of his second term, but I listened to his major speeches and I judged them based on the content of the speech. As far as I can tell no one know what he is going to say in the speech. I highly doubt he will talk about health care. Let’s wait to pass judgment until he actually gives the speech. I think any President of the United States deserves that courtesy.

This is really a PR problem Kyle because of the way the White House and Dept. of Ed. overplayed their hand by sending out the lesson plan. Had this just been a civics lesson, a call for kids do their best, maybe even a call for them to volunteer to make the world a better place there would have been less a reaction.
It was the call to “write letters about how you can help the President” that took this too far.
And obviously, since they’ve backed down, the White House finally realized that.
Hi!
Please stop complaining about Obama’s address to the nation’s students.
Instead, please, please, please, tell all your readers to pull their kids out of their local school. If they are motivated at all, then their child will probably have a better education at home, than they will get at their local school.
I encourage ALL parents who are upset/worried/feeling uneasy about the President of the United States talking to their children, to immediately pull your kids out of school.
It is legal all across the country, and in places like Wisconsin, where I live, VERY easy to pull your kids out and homeschool them
God Bless!
