Okay, not quite.
But over at Bearing Drift, J.R. has an excellent post about a family visit to Williamsburg and the beginnings of our country.
Yes, as one commenter notes, many things are much better than they used to be. But what J.R. laments is the loss of the ideals, the beliefs that formed this country. It was those beliefs that gave this country the ability to make life better, or all her citizens.
Yes, the inhabitants of Williamsburg had much to learn. But unlike our country today, they were on the right track.

Why do you hate America?
Mr. Peen, if that’s your real name since you’ve posted here multiple times under different names, I don’t hate America. And surely, with all of your other posts, you’ve read enough here to know and understand that.
I love this country. But I fear for her. Not just because of Barack Obama. But because of a “me first” culture that abounds. Because of corrupt politicians in every party. Because of posters like you so blinded by their own misguided opinions that they fail to see the error of their ways.
