Just when you thought the left couldn’t go any lower…

New ad from group headed by Howard Dean’s brother: Hey, McCain had cancer
HotAir.com

Allahpundit has more about the people behind the ad.

They got it wrong. They’re the cancer we should be worried about.

As Allahpundit points out, McCain has released his records. Barack Obama has not. Maybe we need to do some research about the lingering effects of cocaine usage.

Unfortunately due to numerous nasty attacks on Obama it became necessary for the “left” to rise up and fight back.

I just wish that we could restore “agree to disagree” discussions with mutual respect in our election campaigns.

If Americans don’t do politics politics will do us. More of us should get involved and be angry at ALL the nasty campaigning…not just the “opponents” nasty campaigning.

    Buzz…Buzz…

    Shirley, you can’t be cereal…

The Obama camp set the tone for nastiness in the primaries. And you don’t seriously expect me to justify attacking someone’s cancer history just because people pointed out Obama’s terrorist connections or his ties to Jeremiah Wright. Do you?

Negative campaigning is effective, otherwise it wouldn’t be used. But this type of attack from the gutter is vile, and reprehensible. I can’t believe you’d even try to defend it. There is no defense.

I’d be happy if we could have a real campaign, real debate based on just the issues. But the American left along with their compadres in the Main Stream Media just won’t allow it. Is the right completely innocent? Of course not.

Stack up the “attacks” from the right and find me those that stoop to the level of attacking McCain’s cancer, or calling Trig Palin “The First Retard.”

I understand that Code Pink doesn’t speak for all of the left. But the fact that the left doesn’t slap them silly and tell them to shut up speaks volumes.

And FWIW, I have argued with my compatriots on the right when they’ve crossed the line. When Ted Kennedy was diagnosed I had some pretty headed discussions on another forum.

I thought you were talking to someone named “Shirley” …but since no one named “Shirley” has commented did you mean “surely.”

I will assume you did mean surely.

So I will leave one last comment on this subject. You need to also start checking out the facts…they are out there….even “Fox the Fake News for Dick Cheney” has called McCain out on the lies in his extreme ads.

    buzz….buzz.

  • Michael says:

Okay, it’s an old and worn out joke, but please don’t tell me you didn’t get the “Shirley” line.

As for the facts, a thorough review of the McCain ads shows that they are indeed correct.

And, Dick Cheney isn’t running for anything.

  • mosquito says:

    I’m truthful…I didn’t get the “shirley” line….and I thought I was old….but then maybe I just learned
something new today….I try to do that everyday. I check my facts and I cite sources when I assert the facts….something I see that you don’t do…

So why don’t you come clean and show us the “reputable” sources that John McCain is telling the truth. Or maybe you are just paticpating in the Rovian spin?

    buzz….buzz

  • Michael says:

So sorry, it’s a running gag used in the movie “Airplane” among other places.

I cite lots of sources. That’s what those little blue letters are in my posts. Of course you’d just call it “Rovian spin” if I point you to the documentation of those ads. But let’s take just one.

For example, the Obama campaign and his minions screamed and howled over the “Obama voted for sex education for kindergartners.” And the Main Stream Media took his word for it when he said he didn’t.

However, if you listen to Obama’s address to Planned Parenthood, he brags about the bill. And if you read this article from 2007 [http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/07/19/277886.aspx] you find Obama spokesman Bill Burton saying that the legislation in question was for “reputable curriculum” put out by the Sexuality Information And Education Council of the United States.

Then if you read the SIECUS document entitled ”Guidelines For Comprehensive Sexuality Education” available at this link [http://www.siecus.org/pubs/guidelines/guidelines.pdf] you’ll find that it recommends teaching by levels. Level 1 is ages 5-8.

For Level 1 you’ll find discussion of body parts, sexual intercourse and sexual orientation. And that’s just a summary.

See, I did that without quoting Karl Rove.

    buzz….buzz…swat!

    Michael,

Airplane is one movie I have not seen….though I do love a great movie.

Thank you for the humor jolt (i.e. Shirley). I’ve been leaving my sense of humor in the real world….maybe I should bring some of it into the cyber world.

However, I would prefer not to be diverted from the original post and our comments so far (with the sex education references etc) so back to the issue of the candidate’s health. Your source stated, “Incidentally, McCain did make his medical records available to reporters for a few hours earlier this year. The One has yet to reciprocate.”

The “One” (Barack Obama) has released his medical records http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/05/obama_releases_health_informat.html They are short and to the point due to the fact that the “One” has not had any major health issues unlike The “Mean Old Man” he is running against. According to this source, http://articles.latimes.com/2008/may/30/nation/na-obama30, the one concern they could come up with was that the “One” had not had a recent yearly screening for prostate problems and they said this should be done on a yearly basis since African American men over age 44 are at risk for prostrate cancer….It appears that Obama missed this year’s check up…

America’s voters should be allowed to have information necessary to make a sound judgement when we vote for a person to be our president. Let’s face it….We have an “angry old man” running for the presidency who is 72 years of age and he has serious known health issues. If elected John McCain will be the oldest American president ever. He is a former POW; the conditions he was forced to endure can have serious ramifications at his age. What are the conditions that enabled John McCain to be rated with a 100 % disability pension from the military? What stage was the latest melanoma biopsy rated as? (According to Doctors this is crucial to determine if McCain is estimated to live longer than four to five years from the biopsy date). I believe that John McCain has been acting in a way that I question his mental status. What is McCain’s mental status? Has he been diagnosed with a mood disorder, personality disorder, or PTSD? If so what treatment has he received for this?

Instead the Republican contender released one thousand hand picked pages given to a few hand picked journalists (only one who was a doctor) who were basically not familiar with medical records…and only a few hours to look at them. Their was not enough time for them to read what they were given. They could not make copies of the documents and were only allowed pens and paper to take some notes. This is not enough for a thorough understanding of someone’s health. Only one reporter had extensive medical training (he was an M.D.)

John McCain has not fully disclosed his health records. No Doctor would take John McCain on as a patient without being allowed access to ALL of his medical history….If McCain wants to be our nation’s president the voters are entitled to a thorough review of his medical records….which has not occurred.

The situation is “worsened” by his choice of an inexperienced unknown who does not appear ready to lead in case John McCain becomes seriously ill or dies. (Even conservative pundits question McCain’s VP choice and have even stated that this VP decision was poor judgement and/or putting his ambition over his country.)

    Buzz….Buzz….

  • Michael says:

John McCain’s doctors have certified his health. It’s hardly necessary for journalists to do the same.

Shall we talk about the lingering affects of cocaine use?
