Wednesday Preparations

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

John 14:3

I grew up in a tradition where people would often talk about being “homesick for heaven.” While I understood the sentiment, I never quite felt that way because, face it, most of us still have things pretty good right here.

No, not everyone does, but that is not the point of this post. We’re pretty blessed as Americans. Even the poor among us are better off than many people around the world.

Jesus gave his followers the hope that there are better things ahead. We have that to look forward to.

He also told them there would be trouble in this life.

Right now, we’re feeling cranky and oppressed. But, even in our 47 years of house arrest things aren’t that bad for most of us.

I mean, think about it, eleven of His chosen disciples died a violent death.

When you look at it that way, social distancing doesn’t look all that bad.

Speaking of preparing, I was going somewhere else with this post. But, as I might have mentioned, we leave for the beach on Saturday.

The realtor is preparing a place for us.

The truth is, my attention span is already waning.

I have a list of “I have to get this done before I go” items.

While my intent was to provide you with your Daily Dose of Brilliance™ through Friday, I’m bowing out today.

I’ll be back here on August 31st.

In the meantime, follow me on Facebook and Instagram for seafood pics and witty repartee.

Wash your hands. Wear your masks. Keep your distance.
