Land that I Love

On this day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted The Declaration of Independence at the Pennsylvania State House (now Independence Hall) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Take some time to read it today.

Our nation celebrates that day annually with parades, picnics, concerts and fireworks.

Personal pet peeve…it’s “Independence Day.”

Everybody has a 4th of July.

Our nation is far from perfect. We have a lot of ugly in our history. We have a lot of ugly going on right now. On many fronts.

But I still believe in this country.

I was going to say more, but I’ll stop with this.

Don’t read this as a call to theocracy. Read it as a call for God’s people to pray, whatever country they may find themselves in.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Be careful in your celebrations today.
