Random Friday

I was not in ‘Iron Man 2,’ but I take a daily iron supplement.

American comedian and actor, Dana Carvey, was born on this day in 1955.

It’s Friday.

The first four days after a Monday holiday are always the hardest.

Just ask Kathy Griffin and Donald “covfefe” Trump.

But, don’t ask them here.

I’m not going to re-hashtag those events. If you’re on social media, or media at all, you should know.

Let’s just say that:

Some things are unacceptable no matter how much you dislike the intended target.
Saying the other side did it too is not an excuse for atrocious behavior.
Even when you say you’re sorry, there are still consequences.

And, I’m done with that.

What I’m not done with is theatre commitments. Tonight, Quill Theatre opens the 2017 Richmond Shakespeare Festival with Love’s Labour’s Lost at the historic Agecroft Hall. I have the distinct honor of being a small part of this amazing cast. See it if you can.

It’s my first “real” venture into Shakespeare since college. Oh, I’ve watched it. I’ve auditioned for it. But this is the first time I’ve been cast in a Shakespeare play since Will was writing the originals.

When the director asked me, he said the part was small (it is), but critical (it also is). I’m just excited to be there, even for that.

So, that’s where I’ll be this weekend when I’m not at the amusement park.

I’m gonna need that iron supplement.

Have a great weekend. Cool your jets on the social media stuff.

No one’s getting worked up over the stuff you post but you.

American composer and conductor, Marvin Hamlisch, was born on this day in 1944 (died 2012).
