Never Surrender

It is inevitable that some defeat will enter even the most victorious life.  The human spirit is never finished when it is defeated…it is finished when it surrenders.American writer, lawyer, actor, and commentator, Ben Stein, was born on this day in 1944.

It’s a theme.

Don’t give up.  Don’t quit.

Simple in concept really.

It’s not over until we quit.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Points for the reference without having to look it up.

Everyone has setbacks.  Everyone has defeats.

Even when you look at the most successful among us, it hasn’t been perfect for them either.

Donald Trump has more money than he knows what to do with.  But he’s had setbacks.

Most of us are hoping he’ll have another.

Sorry, was that political?

I digress.

Maybe you’ve been working on something for a long time.  Maybe you just keep having disappointments and setbacks.

That’s okay.  We all do.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  Take some time to not worry about the struggles, to not worry about the missteps or perceived failures.

Take time to be thankful for what is right.

Take time to be thankful for what you have.  For the successes in life.  No matter how small.

Then Friday, or Monday if you get the weekend, get back out there and kick some butt.
