People we love: Chuck Jones

Charles Martin “Chuck” Jones, September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002

Born on this day in 1912.

How could we not love the animator and cartoon artist who brought us Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote?

Chuck Jones joined the studio that produced Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies for Warner Brothers in 1933. During World War II he worked with Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss to create a series of educational cartoons for the Army. In 1966, he worked with Seuss to create the made for television special How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Jones died on February 22, 2002. He was 89.
