Dominick “Dom” DeLuise, August 1, 1933 – May 4, 2009

Born on this Day in 1933.

Dom DeLuise was an American actor, comedian, film director, television producer, chef and author. He starred in a number of Mel Brooks movies, and a series of flims with best friend Burt Reynolds.

A partial list of his films include Blazing Saddles, Silent Movie, Spaceballs and Robin Hood: Men in Tights, directy by Brooks. DeLuise apepared in The Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit II with Reynolds.

After suffering from kidney failure due to complications from diabetes and high blood pressure, along with surviving cancer, DeLuise died on May 4, 2009. He was 75.
