Nanowrimo – Only 12 Days Away

It’s not yet time to panic. But Nanowrimo, or National Novel Writing Month, begins in just 12 days.

I’ve been participating, or trying to participate, every year since 2003. I’ve successfully met the challenge of writing a 50,000 word novel in the month of November three times. Two are garbage. One is a work in progress.

But it’s the challenge that makes you a Nanowrimo winner. You’re going to write garbage, it’s unavoiable. But that’s what the editing process is for.

So, this year, I’ve got two possible plots, but I think I’ve setted on a combination historical fiction, science fiction for the young reader type of book.

But, for now, I have research to do.

I’ve read your posts about this for a few years now, and I think I’d like to give it a try. How can I participate? Where can I go for more information?

Randy, the official site is Nanowrimo.org. You can go there to get all the details. Basically it’s a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. The key is to keep writing. Don’t go back to edit/revise. Save that for December.
