My Summer of Fitness

I may live to regret this post.

I was never the small child. In fact, I’ve struggled with weight my whole life.

And yes, thankyouverymuch skinny people. I’ve tried to do something about it. Many times.

I’ll get to that, but today I’m launching my “summer of fitness.”

I’m not going to scare you by posting a picture of my stomach every day for the next three months. In fact, I’m not even going to tell you how much I weigh…yet.

But, to quote Bilbo Baggins, I’ve put this off for far too long.

Over the years I’ve tried diet plans and exercise plans and pills and extremes. Reality is, that while I can point to things in my childhood and health challenges I’ve had along the way, no one is responsible for how I look, or how much I weigh, but me.

Today, we’re changing the lifestyle.

I’m going public with this because I need the accountability.

By the time you’re reading this I’ll either be on, or will have been on the treadmill at the gym. (or in the pool if it’s back in service) My healthy breakfast and healthy lunch are already packed.

I have a goal that I intend to reach by August 31st. As I progress, I’ll share the percentage of my progress. And if I make it, I’ll share the actual goal.

Maybe someday, I’ll be willing to post that picture.
