How Doesn’t My Garden Grow?

The sad picture is of the remnants of my 2010 square foot garden.  I had high hopes for the little plot and when it went in, it looked quite nice.  But summer schedules and excessive heat took their toll.  I work weekends in the summer season, so my little patch of victory garden got neglected.  Truth be told, it didn’t look much better at the end of the season than it does in the picture.

But now is the time to dream of spring.  My inbox is full of ideas and suggestions of how and what to garden this year.  Do I take another leap and try it once more?  Can I find time in my schedule to at least make sure the darn thing gets watered?

I didn’t grow up gardening so I don’t have a lot of experience.  I only tried my first one about 10 years ago.  I’ve had varying success.  When my Mother-in-law lived with us, she’d give me advice.  But she’s gone and I’m on my own.

Do I dare take tender little plants off the shelf at the garden center and bring them home to certain death?

Stay tuned.

  1. I know how you feel. My summer garden bombed, except for the tomatoes…so that I tried my hand at a winter garden, which was promptly ruined by our excessive snows. *sigh*

    I’ll stick to blogging.
